Heather
Our niece Heather arrived just after breakfast. She was kind enough to come to Sydney to bring us a few things that we left behind at hew home in Canberra. We decided to go shopping together and lunch in a café, Casual Mondays, in Balmain which masquerades as a Uniting Church on Sundays.
Guy picked up a few things that he wanted to experiment with for supper before we headed back to the flat. Guy introduced Heather to the Windsor’s, a hilarious Netflix series. We then enjoyed a three course dinner featuring a variation on Beef Wellington. Once again we chatted well beyond our respective bedtimes.
The next morning, Heather treated us to fabulous breakfast at The Fenwick, a great café located next to Balmain East Warf.
Sunday, it must be Manly
It seems that we end up in Manly most Sundays. Today was no exception. After a lovely breakfast at The Fenwick, we bade farewell to Heather who was heading back to Canberra, and caught the next ferry to Circular Quay. We were joined at the wharf by Jack, Angie, Bruno & Andrea and met up as planned with Billie Jean and Joe who were already on the 10:59 ferry.
Andrea had organized the outing and Billie Jean had forwarded us the invitation to Bottomless Bellinis and a 3-course lunch, at Manly Wine. Hard to resist. Our ninth companion, Hans, joined us on the ferry to Manly.
We had a very enjoyable 2 ½ hour lunch, too many bellinis to count, lots of conversations and great food. They were even able to accommodate Guy’s allergy to garlic. Satiated, we eventually ferried back Circular Quay and coiffed a pint or two at the Paragon while we waited for the next ferry to Balmain East which we took under the light of the full moon. Another great day in Oz.
